PBKS: title contenders with a leaking attack

Lockie Ferguson returns from parental leave and is expected to play. Azmatullah Omarzai is back in the squad. Coach James Hopes hinted Harpreet Brar could come in as a second spinner to target Pathum Nissanka, who's struck at just 127.5 against spin in T20s since 2025.
DC: KL Rahul and ten passengers
DC sit eighth with an NRR of -1.154, the worst among teams still mathematically alive. Lose tonight with RCB winning on Sunday, and they're done.
Rahul has been outstanding — 468 runs at a strike rate of 180, three fifties and an unbeaten 152 against this very PBKS attack earlier in the season. Against Arshdeep specifically, he strikes at 168.75. Nissanka also has a strike rate above 170 against the left-armer. There's a clear template against PBKS's leader of the attack.
Beyond Rahul, the engine sputters. Axar averages 4.7 with the bat at SR 50. Kuldeep Yadav is out of form and may be dropped for Auqib Nabi or Ajay Mandal. Mitchell Starc is the lone reliable seam threat — Ngidi, Mukesh and Jamieson have all leaked at 11+.

Where the value sits
PBKS are deserved favourites — home venue, deeper squad, opponents in disarray. The 1.667 on the head-to-head is fair but not generous. The better line is PBKS's individual total over 196.5 at 1.92.
Batting first suits Dharamsala. The top six all have their groove. The DC attack outside Starc is the worst they'll face all season. 197 is below the venue's first-innings average and looks beatable.
